2024 COMMUNITY ARTS PROGRAM

For The Riverline's 2024 Community Arts Program, Emma worked with local children at the Old First Ward Community Center to construct a series of lanterns. The laterns were constructed using natural materials and were inspired by themes of nature and well-known features in and around The Riverline corridor. The project culminated in a lovely twilight celebration event which included a lantern parade that ended in the Old First Ward Community Garden.

The Riverline recently completed its Community Arts Program for 2024!

Our Community Arts Program is an opportunity to celebrate and lift up the diverse cultures and history of The Riverline neighborhoods. You can read more about The Riverline Community Arts Program and its history here.

For this year's program The Riverline commissioned local artist Emma Brittain-Hardya working artist and educator in Buffalo, NY.

Emma has completed several public arts projects that focus on the wonders of the natural world. These include her mural Hopeful Currents on Smith Street in Buffalo at the entrance to Red Jacket Riverfront Park. Emma also teaches ceramics for Locust Street Art and has her own pottery line, Black and Birdy. You can find more information about Emma's work on her website and on Instagram.
